My Hair Loss Journey
Hi, I'm Agnes, and I never expected to become someone who knows everything about hair loss treatments, but here we are.
I'm 45, a mom of two, and honestly, I never had thick hair to begin with.
It runs in my family – both the women and men on my maternal side have always had fine, thin hair. I thought that was just my normal, and I was okay with it.
Everything changed when I was planning my first child and stopped taking birth control. Within a few weeks, my hair started falling out in alarming amounts. I immediately panicked and went to a hair specialist, who diagnosed me with androgenic alopecia. Since we were trying to conceive, she said we had to be careful with treatments and gave me some natural shampoos and scalp cleansers to try.
Pregnancy was actually amazing for my hair – it became thick and beautiful, probably the best it had ever looked.
But then came the postpartum reality. For an entire year after my first baby, my hair fell out relentlessly. We were planning a second child, so I couldn't start any serious treatments. Then I got pregnant again, had another brief period of gorgeous pregnancy hair, followed by another year of devastating hair loss.
By the time I was done breastfeeding my second child, I had lost about
a third of my hair volume. I was desperate for answers, so I went on
a mission. I saw an endocrinologist, had countless blood tests, tried bioresonance therapy, visited multiple dermatologists – everyone confirmed the same diagnosis: androgenic alopecia.
Having committed to natural cosmetics and household products since 2013, transitioning to natural hair loss solutions felt like the only authentic path forward.
I tried everything you can imagine – expensive PRP treatments, oxygen therapy sessions, and I've been using exclusively natural cosmetics for over 10 years now. I spent so much money on treatments that promised the world but delivered so little.
The hair loss did eventually stop, which felt like a victory, but my hair never grew back. My scalp was shiny and visible through what little hair I had left. I felt like I had exhausted every option.
Then, about a year ago, I had a conversation with my hair therapist about a product I'd been reading about online. It had incredible reviews and was packed with natural ingredients – exactly what I'd been looking for all these years. I decided to try it as my absolute last hope.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but it actually worked. After 15 years of disappointment, I finally found something that made a real difference.
My brother has also been dealing with male pattern baldness for years, so I've learned about men's hair loss treatments through his experiences too. Between the two of us, we've probably tried every product and treatment out there.
That's why I started this blog. After 15 years of research, trial and error, and way too much money spent on things that didn't work, I want to share what I've learned. I know how frustrating and isolating hair loss can be, especially for women. I know what it's like to try treatment after treatment and feel like nothing will ever work.
If my experiences can help even
one person avoid the years of disappointment I went through, or help them find a solution that actually works, then sharing all of this will be worth it.
I approach everything here with the same skepticism and thoroughness that I wish I'd had 15 years ago. No miracle cures, no false promises – just honest experiences from someone who's been exactly where you are.
Here's my hair progress
It feels scary to post these photos, but here's my hair progress so far – finally seeing some improvement after so many years.
